Dr. Lori Miller
Dr. Lori Miller is the newest member of the Livewell team, as of December 2015. Prior to joining this practice she was employed by Unity Point Clinics for 15 years. She served the community of Norwalk and surrounding areas as a Family Medicine provider.
She graduated from the University of Iowa with an undergraduate degree in Psychology. As a 21 year old, ready to leave Iowa winters, she ventured to the University of North Texas Health Science Center in Fort Worth Texas where she received her degree of Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine. After getting married and having her first child, she felt a tug at her heart to “go home”. It was then she was accepted to the Iowa Lutheran Family Medicine Program in Des Moines Iowa. The Iowa Health system built a clinic in Norwalk for Dr. Miller and her partner to start. She stayed there 15 years watching families grow without a single regret.
Having received an Osteopathic training, she was always more “open minded” than her MD peers. Though she did not perform osteopathic manipulation, she eagerly encouraged her patients to pursue non- traditional therapies such as manual manipulation by chiropractors or osteopaths, acupuncture and many others. Through some of her own soul searching, education and investigation, she was exposed to the world of Functional Medicine.
In 2013 she received her designation as Fellow of Functional Medicine from the Metabolic Institute (formerly A4M) offered through the University of South Florida. After several years of trying to incorporate functional medicine concepts into her existing practice, she finally decided to leave that thriving practice in order to pursue her passion in Functional Medicine full time. It is through Functional Medicine that she hopes to help people take control of their own lives; to branch away from the world of pharmaceuticals, and to be empowered to be in charge of our health.
Dr. Miller was born in Nebraska, but has lived in Iowa most of her life. She is actively involved in her church, and with her family. She has 2 children: Collin (19) attends Drake University, and Camille (17) is a junior at Norwalk high school. Lori continues to live in Norwalk with her husband Brad, where she is active in her community. She loves to cycle and run in her free time, when not learning about health and wellness!!
DIRECTOR OF MARKETING
Christina Davis joined the team at the Livewell clinic in July of 2014. Christina brings 15 years of corporate leadership experience to her role as Practice Manager at the clinic. She is an accomplished business management professional who joined the clinic after a successful career in financial services and communications. Christina was first introduced to Dr. Zac through his wife, Dr. Tammy. Dr. Tammy cared for Christina and her daughters as a doula and pre-natal and pediatric chiropractor. As a result of that connection, Christina began to consult with Dr. Zac as his practice grew and evolved. After the birth of her second child in February of 2014, Christina left the corporate world in search of an opportunity that would provide more work life balance. The rest, as they say, is history.

PATIENT EDUCATION DIRECTOR / HEALTH COACH
Melissa Reisinger is an Iowa native who graduated from Indianola High School. After she worked as a veterinarian technician for several years until deciding to start a family. Melissa owned and operated a successful in-home business for 8 years before joining the Livewell team in February of 2017. She came to Livewell initially as a patient in fall of 2015 after years of struggling with her health journey. Her past experience with health issues and love for functional medicine inspired her to go back to school. She is a 2017 graduate of the Institute for Integrative Nutrition as a certified Integrative Nutrition Health Coach. She and her husband Brett have two children, Ruby and Jasper, and live on a small acreage outside of Indianola where they garden and raise chickens. When she’s not at Livewell she enjoys making ceramics, doing yoga, cooking or spending time outside.
Amy is an nurse at the Livewell Clinic. She went to Grand View University where she graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing. She worked for 10 years on many units in the hospital setting; adult acute care. Her nursing career started at Mercy Medical Center in Des Moines. After two years there she moved to Minneapolis where, for the next 8 years, she worked downtown at Abbott Northwestern Hospital.
While living in MN Amy was introduced to a more holistic approach to health. This is where she says her own health journey began. Learning about nutrition and a more natural approach to health became a passion for her. While taking a pause in her nursing career to raise her children she spent much of her time learning about, and teaching others about whole food nutrition and natural health. While Amy values and honors her time worked in the hospital, she’s excited to work with a Functional Medicine approach to health. This is where, she believes, people can be empowered to take control of their own health.
Amy is married to her husband, Kris. They’ve been blessed to have three children...Madeline, Roman, and Graham. Days are busy with lots of activities and sports! She loves spending time with her kids, her friends, watching movies, listening (and singing;) to music, decorating cakes, reading, relaxing by the pool, and finding creative things to do.
Maureen is a nurse at the Livewell Clinic. She went to University of Minnesota Duluth and obtained a Bachelors degree in Communication and Psychology. Prior to raising her family, Maureen worked in the private sector as a retail manager and buyer. Maureen started her nursing career later in life in various settings from Hospice, Med/Surg, Surgery and OB. Spending 10 years as a birth doula, Maureen was always looking for more natural ways to inspire and educate people on the beauty of the body wanting to be healed within itself and work as it was designed to work.
The passion to find another way to help people learn how to find wellness and improve their quality of life journey brought her to The Livewell Clinic. She no longer is made fun of for heating up broccoli and brussel sprouts! She discovered the creamy deliciousness of Bulletproof coffees and good fats are now her friends. Great joy is given to her as she sees lives transformed and is blessed by being a small part of the journey people are on to discover the wonder of their bodies and the healing they obtain by living well.
Maureen is married to Mark, whom she met the first day of college. They have created a zoo of many children, grandchildren, kitties, dogs, horses, ducks, guinea hens, chickens and a pot bellied pig. Sitting on the front porch rocker listening to the sounds of nature, looking with wonder at creation and reading more about wellness is what she does in her spare time, until she hears, “MOM!” and she is jolted back to reality of the treasure of family.
Lacey is an Iowa native, growing up in Mason City and she has lived in the Des Moines area since 2003. Lacey didn’t find a love for nursing until later in life after she had her children. She has worked in various hospital settings, most recent being the Emergency Department at Unity Point, until she joined the Livewell Clinic in August of 2019.
Lacey has an immense passion to help people and that is what she loves most about nursing. She is new to functional medicine, but she has a great desire to learn how to help patients take control of their own health and manage chronic conditions.
Lacey is married to her husband, Chet, for 12 years and has two children, Max (age 11) and Sawyer (age 8) and one fur baby, Ozzie (age 3). She has an active family, very involved in sports with both children. She loves watching her children compete at just about anything.
